Actor, director and scriptwriter, Gurwann Tran Van Gie has been openly gay since the age of 20. In 2013, violently homophobic reactions by protesters opposing gay marriage sound up to his balcony, and raise his fears of becoming a target for the first time. While telling his own story, Gurwann Tran Van Gie explores the roots of homophobia. He also highlights the work of Contact Rhône, an association dedicated to help lesbians, gays, bisexuals keep or reestablish contact with their families. And then there is Le Refuge, which takes care of underage gays expulsed by their parents, which count up to a thousand every year.
